Aidan Adams won second place and will be continuing to represent us at the Semi-Finals.

Elise Miller of Grade Four represented Cedar Grove Private School at the National Mental Math Competition,
held last year at the Rudranath Capildeo Learning Resource Centre. She placed in the top ten out of over forty other competitors.

O.D.P.M - Disaster Preparedness
On Monday 22nd March,2010,Cedar Grove Private School was visited by the officers from the ODPM-Office of Disaster Preparedness and Mangement.They addressed students from Grades two to five. This visit was very informative and we would like to share some important information with you.
Natural disaters may include:Floods,Earthquakes,Fires,Hurricanes,Tsunami,Landslides ,Lightning. All of these disasters are potentially dangerous and all necessary steps must be taken to ensure safety.Some Organizations there to assisst are: Fire Services,Police Services,T&Tec and Red Cross.
During a hurricane,you should stay indoors and away from open doors and windows.You should also continue to listen to your radio for official word that it is safe to leave your home.During an earthquake,you must stay calm and Drop,Cover and Hold.This means to Drop under a sturdy desk or table,Cover head and Hold your position until the shaking stops.In any disaster you may be asked to evacute.
You should follow instructions given and go to the shelter for your area.Bring your basic emergincy supply kit with you during any evacuation.You should try to bring the comfort and convenienceitems as well.The basic supply kit should include:water,food,flashlights,potable radios and batteries.Some items in a first aid kit are:medicine,anteseptic wipes,cold pack,scissors,tweezers,cotton balls.
We the students of Cedar Grove Private School thought that the information given was mind-blowing.The officers came with a projector and we were therefore able to view photographs on disaster that happened around the world.We learnt valuable safety tips that would help us in the future.
